For patients — your data and your rights

This page is for patients of clinics that use Clinic24x7.

Who holds your data

Your dental clinic keeps your records (visits, treatment, prescriptions, bills) using Clinic24x7. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the clinic decides how your data is used and is responsible for it. Clinic24x7 stores and processes it for the clinic.

Your rights

You can:

• Get a copy of the personal data the clinic holds about you.
• Ask for your data to be deleted.
• Stop messages: tell the clinic you don't want WhatsApp reminders and other messages.
• Ask for corrections if something is wrong: tell the clinic at your next visit or call them.

How to ask for a copy or deletion

1. Open your clinic's page and click Your data & privacy at the bottom, or go to clinic24x7.in/my-data.
2. Choose A copy of my data, Delete my data, or both.
3. Enter your name and the mobile number you gave the clinic. Add your email or a message if you like. If you use the general page, you can also write the clinic's name and city.
4. Tick the box to confirm you are the patient (or their parent or guardian), and click Send request.

You'll see "Request received". For your privacy, the page never says whether a clinic has your number.

What happens next

1. The clinic calls you on that number to check it's really you. They'll ask something only you would know, such as your date of birth or your last visit. Keep your phone handy over the next few days.
2. You get your data: the clinic either hands you a printed copy, or sends you a secure link.
3. If you asked for deletion, your contact details are erased and all messages stop.

Downloading your data with a link

The link from the clinic opens a page saying Your data is ready.

1. Enter the mobile number you used to ask.
2. Click Download PDF (easy to read and print), and/or Download data file (for moving to another clinic or app).

The link works for 7 days. After 5 wrong numbers it locks. Ask the clinic for a new link if it has expired or locked.

Keep the files somewhere safe: they contain your health information.

What deletion means

When you ask for deletion, the clinic erases your phone number, WhatsApp number, email, address and emergency contact, and stops all messages to you.

Your treatment and billing records are kept for as long as Indian law requires clinics to keep medical records. They stay locked and aren't used to contact you.
