The dashboard

The first page after signing in. It's different for each role.

Clinic Admin

  • Shortcut buttons: Add Patient, New Appointment, Quick Visit, Start Visit, Finance.
  • Counters for Today's Appointments, Active Patients and Completed Today.
  • Today's Schedule: a calendar of today's appointments, one column per doctor.
  • Today's Front Desk Queue: patients due today, with a Check In button.
  • Needs Attention: patients who are checked in and waiting, and today's appointments that are still unconfirmed.
  • Doctor Load Today, Today's Status Breakdown, Appointments This Week.
  • Recent Activity: the latest changes made by your team.
  • The Setup checklist until your clinic is ready.

Money widgets live on the separate Finance page, not the daily dashboard, so screens facing patients don't show revenue.

Doctor

  • Today's Patients, Consultations Completed, Pending Prescriptions, Plans Awaiting Approval.
  • My Schedule Today, with a link to the full schedule.
  • An AI Scribe panel to start dictating.

Receptionist

  • Today's Check-ins, Waiting Now, Unpaid Invoices.
  • Today's Front Desk Queue with Check In and Continue Visit buttons.
  • Quick Billing: unpaid invoices with Record Payment.

The sidebar

The left-hand menu groups pages by job: Overview, Front Desk, Clinical (or Patients and Clinical Tools for doctors), Billing, Catalog, Administration. You only see the pages your role can use (see Roles and permissions).

Click the panel icon at the top left to collapse the sidebar into icons and get more room.

Searching for a patient

The search box at the top of every page finds patients by name, patient number or phone number. Start typing and click a result to open the patient.

The command palette

Press Ctrl + K (Windows) or ⌘ + K (Mac) anywhere in the app. Type a page name ("invoices", "settings") or a patient's name, use the arrow keys, and press Enter. It's the fastest way to move around once you're used to it.

Lists, filters and pages

Most list pages (Patients, Appointments, Invoices…) work the same way:

  • A search box and filters (status, doctor, dates) at the top.
  • Click a row to open it.
  • Previous / Next at the bottom move through pages.
  • Filters are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a filtered list or send it to a colleague.

Light and dark mode

Click the sun/moon icon at the top right to switch between light and dark. The palette button at the bottom right lets you pick a colour theme. Both are remembered on that device.

Status badges

Coloured badges show where a record is in its life: an appointment is Scheduled, Checked In or Completed, an invoice is Draft, Issued or Paid. Only the buttons that make sense for the current status are shown. Statuses explained lists every status and what moves a record from one to the next.

Using Clinic24x7 on a phone or tablet

The web app works in a phone browser, but for the clinic day we recommend the Android app. It's built for one-handed use in the chair and at the front desk. See The mobile app. Clinic setup (services, staff, settings) is easier on a computer.

Getting help

  • These docs: the Help & support page in the app links here.
  • Help & support → Report a problem sends a ticket to the Clinic24x7 team. See Getting help.
