Lab cases and letters

Track crowns, bridges and dentures sent to the lab until they're fitted, and make referral letters, certificates and treatment summaries.

Both are in the mobile app.

Lab cases

Work sent to a dental lab (crowns, bridges, dentures, aligners and so on) is tracked as a lab case until it's fitted. That stops a fitting being booked before the work is back, and stops a case sitting forgotten at the lab.

Sending a case

In Quick Visit, add Add lab work to the visit: what's being made, the teeth, the lab, and the date it's due back. Saving the visit creates the lab case.

Tracking it

Open Lab cases (Lab cases not yet fitted). Each case shows its status:

StatusMeaningNext

Back — ready to fitReturned to the clinicFitted once it's in the patient's mouth, or Remake if it's not right

A banner reminds you about cases that are overdue at the lab. Every change is recorded in the audit log.

Letters

From a saved Quick Visit in the app, the Letters card makes a PDF letter on your clinic letterhead:

LetterUse
ReferralRefer the patient to a specialist, for example an oral surgeon. Starts "Dear Doctor," and ends "Kindly evaluate and advise. Thank you."
CertificateA medical or fitness certificate for work or school, for example "The patient may resume normal duties."
Treatment summaryA summary of treatment for the patient or another dentist
  1. Pick the letter type. The text starts from a sensible draft based on the visit.
  2. Fill in the recipient (for a referral) and edit the text.
  3. Tap Make PDF — print or share. The PDF includes the clinic's details, the patient, the date, your text and the doctor's name and registration number. Print it or share it from your phone.

Letters are made on the spot and aren't stored in Clinic24x7. Save or print the PDF if you need it later.
